Our government is re-equipping the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard with a new fleet of ships. North Vancouver’s Seaspan Shipyards won $8 billion in shipbuilding contracts through an open, competitive process. This is injecting billions into our local economy, while creating 2,000 long-term, high-paying local jobs.
New interchanges will improve traffic flow and ease congestion on the approaches to the Second Narrows Bridge.
This will include the replacement of the Mountain Hwy overpass with a full interchange, an improved intersection & overpass on Keith Rd, intersection improvements onto Highway 1 at Dollarton, and a Crown Street cycling & pedestrian overpass.
Andrew helped Capilano University secure $15 million from the federal government for a new state-of-the-art film school, which is providing new career opportunities for our youth and building a skilled workforce to help grow our local film industry.
The North Shore Girls Soccer Club has a 30,000 square foot indoor, heated, air-conditioned soccer bubble, thanks in part to $800,000 that Andrew helped secure from Ottawa.
Andrew delivered $2.2 million in federal support for the new North Vancouver Museum, which will be located at the historic pipe shop building at the Shipyards.
When a bureaucratic glitch threatened to ground North Shore Rescue’s fleet of rescue helicopters, Andrew worked with Transport Canada to find a solution. As a result, the rescue team was able to resume their operations quickly.
The Presentation House Gallery has been bringing great art to North Vancouver for thirty years. A new, larger home for the gallery will be built at the Shipyards, called the Polygon Gallery.
Andrew delivered $2.5 million to help build this new, iconic North Vancouver landmark.
Andrew has worked to strengthen our government’s strong partnerships with community groups that are working to protect and conserve Pacific salmon and salmon habitat. His efforts have helped improve MacKay Creek, Seymour Creek, Mosquito Creek, Lynn Creek, the Indian River watershed and the Seymour River estuary and hatchery.
North Vancouver resident Pavel Kulisek was wrongfully arrested and imprisoned in Mexico. Andrew, along with our Conservative Government, worked diligently to secure his release and reunite him with his wife and daughters.
