A CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT HAS A POSITIVE VISION FOR CANADA’S ECONOMY.
WE WILL INSTITUTE A SERIES OF POLICIES TO KEEP MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKETS.
OUR POLICIES INCLUDE:
Taking the GST off of home heating bills
Tax free parental benefits, to help young families just starting out
Universal tax cut, helping all hard-working taxpayers
Children’s Fitness Tax Credit, up to $1000.00 per child
Children’s Art and Learning Tax Credit: It’s flexible so children can get extra help studying a language, learning about science, math or coding
Increase the Age Credit by $1,000.00 per year, per senior. For a couple, it will be up to $300.00 more in their pockets
Repeal Trudeau’s tax increases on small business investments
Our Conservative government will live within our means and leave more money in your pocket so you can get ahead, not just get by.
The average Canadian family now spends more of its income on taxes (44.2%) than it does on basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing combined
Housing Affordability and Fixing the Traffic Congestion in North Vancouver
A new Conservative government would introduce new measures to make it easier for first-time homebuyers to buy a home. We need to bring the different levels of government together to invest in transportation infrastructure to fix the congestion on the North Shore.
HOUSING AFFORDABILITY ON THE NORTH SHORE
Introducing new measures to make it easier for first-time home buyers to buy a home.
We will fix the mortgage stress test to ensure that first-time homebuyers are not locked out of the housing market.
Increase amortization periods on insured mortgages to 30 years to lower monthly payments.
Work with provinces and municipalities to reduce regulatory barriers that discourage home construction.
Make surplus federal real estate available for development to increase the supply of housing.
Launch an inquiry into money laundering in the real estate sector and work with our industry partners to root out corrupt practices that inflate housing prices.
NORTH SHORE TRAFFIC
We need to bring the three levels of government together to invest in transportation infrastructure to fix the congestion on the North Shore.
Our Green Transit Tax Credit, a universal 15% credit, will encourage people to get out of their cars by making it more affordable to use public transit.
Andrew Saxton’s priority will be to advocate to extend the SkyTrain to the North Shore, making it more convenient to use public transit.
A REAL PLAN
to Protect Our Environment
Protecting the Environment for Future Generations
Require Canadian companies to invest in emissions-reducing technology if they fall short of our emissions standards.
Green Homes Tax Credit: Encourage Canadians to improve their homes with emissions-reducing technologies.
Green Technology Innovation Fund: Leverage up to $1 billion in private investment in new venture capital for Canadian green technology companies.
A CLEANER, GREENER
End the dumping of billions of liters of raw sewage into our waterways.
Reconvene the Hunting and Angling Advisory Panel, disbanded by the Liberals, so those with the greatest interest in protecting species and habitats can share their expertise in achieving these goals.
Harmonize recycling standards across provinces and work with industries to reduce excessive plastic packaging.
Canada has a leadership role to play: Taking our climate fight global
Canadian Energy products like LNG can be used to replace dirtier foreign energy sources like coal.
Canada’s production standards are amongst the best in the world. We will promote the export of Canadian Clean products, like aluminum, to displace higher emissions products manufactured abroad.
A Real Plan to Protect Our Environment will globally promote green technology developed in Canada to reduce emissions around the world.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my supporters and volunteers who worked so hard on this campaign. This was the best managed and executed campaign that I have ever been part of. The energy and dedication of the over 300 volunteers who worked throughout this campaign was remarkable. Although we didn’t get the result we had hoped for, we can be very proud of the work we did representing the Conservative Party here in North Vancouver.
I want to congratulate Jonathan Wilkinson on his re-election as MP for North Vancouver. I also want to thank the other candidates for putting their names forward and running good and respectful campaigns.
Canada is the best country in the world, and the efforts that we all put into our election process helps to keep our democracy strong!
