Federal stimulus benefits North Shore, MP says

Over the next year, North Vancouver will continue to see benefits from the federal stimulus plan, says local MP Andrew Saxton. Baseball facilities at Chris Zuehlke Memorial Park are scheduled for $200,000 worth of federally-funded upgrades, while Ottawa also poured $600,000 into an asphalt running track at Windsor secondary school. |

North Vancouver MP Andrew Saxton introduced legislation yesterday that would make Internet service suppliers - hosting sites, webmail portals, social networking sites and Internet service providers - legally obligated to inform police about any child pornography they become aware of on their services. Vancouver police Det. Russ Mitchell believes the act will speed up the time it takes for police to trace predators. |
